Hooray for Clipart

Meet my new students! I am super excited to announce that I am officially designing clipart! This is a brand new adventure for me, but I have always loved making and sharing art!

In elementary school, my parents let me and my brothers take oil painting classes and wood painting classes. I am so lucky to have parents who supported our love of the arts. My high school years were filled with lots of art classes too. I considered being an art teacher and stopped one class shy of a minor in art history in college. I even studied abroad learning about the art history of Italy my junior year #amazing!

Here are some beach oil paintings I did when I was 8 and 10. I climbed through a jungle of storage bins in the attic to find them. Apparently my artist signature evolved from "Em" to "Emily" after a couple years- so much more mature LOL!

Teaching is an awesome way for me to squeeze a little art into each day...I love drawing with my students and teaching children to love art! My room is filled with little art projects :)

I always wanted to share my art, and now I figured out a way to do it! Yayyyy! My amazing husband got me an intuos tablet for my 30th birthday. He knew I wanted to make some clipart so he researched it and spoke with some graphic designers about what would be best for me. I was completely surprised and thrilled! My tablet and I go together like peas and carrots....I just love, love, LOVE using it. (I will never use a mouse again.)

I taught myself how to use Adobe Inspire, and I have a found a new passion...making clipart. It's like being back in art class. I love learning how to do new things and experiment with different approaches! I will be learning more about making clipart at the upcoming Teachers Pay Teachers Conference in Las Vegas. I am thrilled to be attending a session led by Michelle from the 3AM Teacher. You can download her terrific and detailed session handout here.

I can't wait to start incorporating these happy school supplies into some new classroom projects. I am also loving seeing how other teachers are incorporating these graphics into their teaching resources.

You can grab almost 40 images for free, and I would love to see and hear about how you are using them. Just click on any of the pictures to visit my store. If you post pictures on Instagram or Facebook, please tag me so I can see your ideas!
